Gary spent the following weeks healing from his surgery. So many tales he can tell about that adventure which would make any captive audience laugh until they cried! I was happy to see him returning to his old self. However our excitement was short lived. He began to have issues with his balance again – sometimes falling, his right eye was closing, his voice sounded like he was having a stroke, swallowing became difficult for him again and the phlegm was non-stop. We learned how to live with the symptoms…he slept a lot, drank pineapple juice for the phlegm, sat outside most of the time so he could spit, and drank broth when he could. The positive about all this according to him was the weight loss! Back to the doctors we went with them all shaking their heads saying once again….ALLERGIES.
