We Have An Answer!

March 11, 2020 Gary came home from work and in his Elmer Fudd voice said he was unable to swallow even water. It was time to get some answers, so off to the ER we went. He ended up in ICU with a diagnosis of osteophytes from C2 to T1 growing into his airway. Surgery was performed to remove them and a titanium plate was put in his neck. Unfortunately his breathing did not take too kindly to the anesthesia, (we would find out why later) and he ended up back in ICU intubated. Two weeks later he was allowed to go home with a feeding tube. Although this experience was quite the adventure, we were happy to finally have answers…or so we thought…
