Hot Wheels

Gary finally has his new wheels!! Such excitement! It is a Nitro Duet Function Transport Wheelchair and Rollator Rolling Walker. Even the name sounds impressive! We received it in time to take on our Spring Break trip to Galveston. First use was at Moody Gardens, and it did not disappoint. Gary walked when he could, and when he got weak, we changed it to wheelchair mode which was awesome! Gone are the days of trying to figure out which mode of transportation to take with us.

As far as his dance with Myasthenia gravis goes, it appears MG is taking the lead. His IVIG treatments are holding him about a week now. He did great at Moody Gardens; however, by the end of the day his Elmer Fudd voice, inability to swallow, and droopy/blurred eyes told us his body had enough. Twelve hours of sleep, and he was back to conquering the beach! Takes more than MG to slow my sweetie down! ♥

Still waiting on Vyvgart to arrive at Methodist. Patience has become our partner on this journey. We continue to have faith that this will be the magic potion, and you will see him running marathons. Well, perhaps not marathons…but you get the idea!

MG may have taken the lead as far as symptoms go; however, Gary is still in charge of his attitude, and what a wonderful one it is! Not a day goes by that we don’t count our blessings…after all, in Gary’s words… I AM BESSED.
