Listening and Trusting…

Life continues to be wonderful. The weather has been cooler which allows Gary to enjoy being outside more, our family is healthy and happy, and there weren’t any causalities as Gary and the grandkids raced down the beach on the golf cart! šŸ™‚

A week ago the decision had been made to change the course of treatment for Gary. After much discussion, research, and prayer, we have made the decision to continue on the Vyvgart journey. Gary’s first round (a round is one IV treatment per week for 4 weeks) gave us great hope. Most all symptoms were gone, and he was living life as he had before MG. However, those symptoms began to creep back in after 3 weeks. Round two gave him his voice and swallowing back only to lose them again after 3 weeks. He finished round 3 September 7th which makes him at the 3 week mark. This time he still has his voice and swallowing and at times says he feels “really good”. Balance, vision, and breathing are still difficult for him.

With Myasthenia Gravis, bad antibodies attach to the nerve endings and interrupt the communication with his voluntary muscles. Vyvgart chemically should keep this from happening. We saw this in his first round, so we know it works. We aren’t sure why it hasn’t been as successful with round two and three; however, he is staying out of a crisis which tells us something positive is going on. Consequently, we will march forward with Vyvgart trusting that things will only continue to improve.

As Gary reminds us daily…..

WE ARE BLESSED

“I have complete confidence that God is able to take care of any situation and provide an answer to any question or problem – He has all the resources of the universe to draw upon in helping each one of us through any type of crisis if we will trust Him.” Charles Stanley, Finding Peace
