Dancing Through Life…

Our first date was at Chrystal Chandelier in New Braunsfels, Texas to see and dance to George Strait, and we’ve been dancing ever since. Sometimes life sends us a slow dance and other times a jig.

We’ve had a difficult time lately learning the new steps to this recent music; however, it seems we are finally figuring them out.

Gary recently went through some horrible pain in his lower back and down his legs. His hands and neck hurt, and he was having difficulty sleeping much less functioning during the day. He has had some recent x-rays and blood work done to see if we can figure out what is going on. In the meantime, I spoke to one of my earthly angels who has a medical background. She lovingly took time out of her day to look at all the test results. After all was said and done, the one thing that stood out for us was the lowering of his prednisone dose coinciding with this excruciating pain. So, the very next day he went back to his original dose. We also added Devil’s Claw and Turmeric. While he is still in pain, it is manageable. This can be seen in daily humor along with working non-stop hours at his computer! 🙂 October 31 we meet with the doctor to hopefully get more answers.

Today he saw his pulmonary doctor. Myasthenia Gravis for him affects all his voluntary muscles. This includes the diaphragm. Since he is currently in a flair, (not a crises thank goodness) he has difficulty breathing. The doctor has decided to put him on an NIV. (non invasive ventilator) Just waiting on insurance to get it going.

Wednesday, October 19, he begins his 4th Vyvgart series. So far he still has his voice and can swallow. I’ve caught him several times sneaking cookies! Fingers crossed we will see more progress with each infusion.

For now we will turn up the music and continue to dance our way through life never forgetting that

WE ARE INDEED BLESSED

  1. Gary was indeed missed but not forgotten at the Tivy ’72 reunion. I had prayed that he would be able to make it. Alas, the good Lord is not done tempering like fine metal yet. Rest asured the Gary in in my prayers. Mind you, that I am not that good of a person so…
Really you all are truly blessed. I have observed posts and seen what a wonderful family the Lidiak clan is. I still do wave every time I pass near or through Katy. Tell Gary I popped into Notre Dame Sunday for Mass and this time the pastor did not mention anything about a guy spinning tires on fresh pavement. To this day I do not know how my Mother found out. Maybe Mr. Lidiak, Gary’s dad saw me and told my mom about it in Czech.
