I Can See Clearly Now…

As I wrote in my last post, Gary received his first dose of the new drug Vyvgrt with high hopes. The day after, Wednesday, we both noticed slight improvements but were afraid it was our imagination and didn’t say anything. Thursday came along, and it couldn’t be denied…Gary was definitely improving. He was walking more upright and with better balance, he wasn’t sounding like a fish out of water after walking a short distance, the Elmer Fudd voice was gone. Each day we wake looking for the return of these symptoms, yet they have remained gone. The only issue he has had so far is he is seeing lots of black dots with circles around them much like cells. He had what appeared to him a light dripping in his right eye which has since disappeared. He believes it is his eyes rods and cones reacting to the new medication….perhaps coming back to life. Could this be the magic potion we have been waiting patiently and praying nonstop for? Friday he walked around the outside of our home without assistance…something he hasn’t done in over two years!! However…it…gets…better!!

Today was his 2nd out of four infusions, and he WALKED all the way with his walker…don’t think he needed it, but we felt it was best to be cautious Honestly he almost ran! HA! He never had to stop to catch his breath, and he walked at a quick pace!

We BELIEVE this is only the beginning…after all, as he always says….I AM BLESSED

Sing along with us….

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind

It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

Oh, yes I can make it now the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for

It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there’s nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for

It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

Bri-ri-ri-ri’, bright, (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day, yeah,
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day, yeah,
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
Bri-ri-ri-ri’, bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day…

  1. To my wife Creigh,
I can’t begin to say how much you have helped me during our MG Voyage.

To anybody who reads this please know that the person that has it the toughest during a life trial is your spouse, companion, best friend, or whoever decides that they love you and are going to actively help you.

My beautiful wife of 38 years took on this Gary Project as soon as we had a clear diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis or MG. When she knew what we were fighting, her mission was locked and loaded. She spent countless hours on the phone, email, in offices, of every Dr. and Specialist known to mankind. She has helped me up when I actually fell, she has never wavered from her love of me and our relationship. She has given me showers, baths, cleaned me up, put medicine and bandages on my bleeding arms, sat up with me when the cramps from medicine was so severe that I couldn’t sleep. She has taken my nasty remarks, looks, and frustration that I have tormented her with and straightened me out multiple times. She has waited on me like I was a king.

So, I just wanted the people who know us to understand how this woman has blessed my life. I can never thank her enough. Now we are seeing an improvement in my condition. I am never going to die from this disease, but the havoc it plays on people’s lives is tough. No one has had it any tougher than Creigh.

This blog that she started is so that folks that have MG or don’t know what it is can see that it is not any fun, but so many people have it much tougher than us. And we know that.

Thank you, Creigh, for being my Angel and care giver. I am truly blessed.
